The price of Cheese

Here’s a clip form a live stream last week, It’s a deeply serious conversation song about dairy products. Years ago when I ran a cafe I ate a ludicrous amount of cheese, mainly because it was free and available to me all day long. Wheeeeeels of Cambazola! After grossly overdoing it I became intolerant to dairy (mostly developed migraines) and many years after ‘recovery’ this is a tail of what I found out about cows milk at the time.

I rigidly cut it out for 6 months, and then re-introduced it in small doses, and I am migraine free ever since. A happy ending 😎 Now cheese just gives me a mild hangover, like alcohol. “It’s Friday night babe, lets have some Brie”

Filming the new video

Here’s a clip of me learning the serious art of selfie stick music videography. The new ‘Stain’ video was a hoot to make, lip syncing the the tune around Edinburgh town with the occasional person calling me a nutter and one jumping into the video and screaming “freedom!” I’ve also persuaded the band to shed dignity and show their faces in similar vain! The video will be out on 30th June with the song release.

If you stream music, you can pre-save the tune here.

Kazoo!

Another clip from this weeks live stream for those not on facebook. I attempted to play the kazoo (festive gift) for the first time live. Slipped into a jazzy version of ‘Make my night’, which is usually more of a Santana style tune with the band. In the spirit of jazz, please forgive my ‘jazz’ notes, both on Kazoo and vocally! Live streaming, live to the world, warts and all! 😂 Still terrifies me, whilst the stage never did. Odd!
Sorry, I forgot to flip the selfie cam so I’m a leftie for today.

Quarantine Envy!

Here’s a live stream clip from 12th January, a song called Quarantine Envy which I wrote in jest at my deep envy of a friend (also a singer-songwriter & guitar player) who has a lovely big cat to keep him company through lockdown (written in April 2020). Lucky for me, I’ve been locked down with the next best thing, a blues guitarist!
Sorry, I forgot to flip the selfie cam so I’m a leftie for today.

Karma!

Here’s a short version of ‘Karma’, which Broken Windows have recorded in a rather swampy manner and with assistance from Gary Martin and his blues harp. This will be an album track next year!
